The Lukashenko regime continues its practices of terror and intimidation. Every day, we hear about new arrests, torture, and sentences. The contents of phones, computers, and social media posts have become grounds for persecution. We cannot protect every Belarusian from threats, but we strive to make life safer for those who seek our help.
The project Digital Support: Security Together, run by A Country to Live in foundation, is our response to the regime’s challenges. We help Belarusians safeguard their personal data and minimize the risk of arrest or detention, offering guidance on how to clean digital devices of risky information.
We processed 174 requests to our technical support service for digital security. We assist Belarusians with the following issues:
- setting up a secure "partisan" Telegram;
- cleaning phones before crossing borders and after detentions;
- clearing social networks, web history, and cloud storage.
We provide support to those who cannot protect themselves and help them guard against repression.
