A Country to Live in foundation continues its work to support families of political prisoners who face challenges resulting from the regime's repressions. These families lose their primary means of livelihood when their loved ones are behind bars. We rely on principles of solidarity and the Belarusian tradition of talaka — collective assistance where anyone can contribute to shared help.
Since the launch of our Family Friend solidarity program, we have managed to transfer €80,000 to families of political prisoners. This is more than just a number — it represents hundreds of people who have received real support in the form of funds for food, medicine, utility payments, and legal aid.
We organize systematic payments for families of political prisoners. Collected funds are redistributed to ensure each family receives assistance while their loved ones remain imprisoned. Your contribution helps:
- pay for lawyers to fight for their release;
- cover basic needs for families when the primary breadwinner is in prison;
- provide material support so that people feel they are not abandoned in their time of need.
Every family left without a loved one due to repression faces not only emotional suffering but also financial difficulties. We believe that the tradition of talaka — mutual assistance during difficult times — can unite Belarusians both inside the country and abroad.
Our ultimate goal: no family should be left alone to face their challenges. We have already achieved a lot, but together we can do even more.
