In Lithuania, tens of thousands of Belarusians have found refuge, forced to leave their homeland. In this neighboring country, they seek safe living conditions and the opportunity for a fresh start. Since 2020, around 70,000 of our compatriots have arrived in Lithuania, but their numbers have since decreased. As of January 1, 2025, 57,511 were officially registered. Belarusian citizens face numerous challenges.
In 2024, our specialists handled 139 requests, including cases such as:
- refusal by Lithuania to grant asylum or a residence permit;
- obtaining a foreign citizen's passport;
- developing an action plan in case Lithuania’s migration service declares a national-level threat;
- choosing a country for legalization under the Dublin Regulation, among others.
We continue to work and support Belarusians who cannot navigate life in Lithuania without proper information and guidance. Your donations can change the lives of those seeking safety and a fresh start in a foreign country.
