A Country to Live in foundation supports families of political prisoners who have found themselves in difficult circumstances due to their civic stance. As part of the assistance program , we provide a one-time aid of €300. Over the course of the project, families of political prisoners have already received over €300,000 in support, and the prisoners themselves have received, among other things, 7 tons of food and supplies in parcels.
Support is available to families of political prisoners serving sentences involving deprivation or restriction of freedom in the Republic of Belarus. A close relative of the prisoner can apply for assistance.
Financial support. A one-time payment of €300 to cover essential expenses.
Legal assistance. Advice and support on legal matters.
Psychological help. Consultations for both the family and the prisoner.
The aid is intended to support political prisoners and can be used for:
prison parcels;
clothing;
replenishing the prisoner’s personal account;
hygiene products and medications;
lawyer services;
stationery for correspondence.
We believe that supporting families of political prisoners is about more than money. It is about solidarity that strengthens our community and gives people the strength to keep fighting. Every political prisoner should know: they are not alone.
